Inspired by a treat-loving Beagle who taught me that life is better when shared — PawMate was born the day I realized my dog Joy had more of a social life than I did.
If you know Beagles, you know they possess two superpowers: an unstoppable appetite and unconditional love for making friends. Joy takes both very seriously. Every corner holds the promise of a hidden snack, and every dog or human we cross paths with is a best friend he just hasn't met yet.
Joy doesn't know how to read a digital clock, but his internal compass is flawless. Every night, as it strikes 10:00 PM sharp, his alarm goes off — he marches over, looks up with those melting Beagle eyes, and gives me an unmistakable sign: "It is precisely 10 o'clock. Let's go for our walk."
Watching Joy eagerly pull me along to charm every dog on our nightly walks made me realize something important. Finding the right friends, playdates or breeding matches for our pets shouldn't rely on random chance during a late-night stroll. Dogs naturally crave companionship — and as pet parents, we want safe, compatible, verified matches for them.
That is exactly how PawMate was born.
In the early days, Joy taught me the chaotic art of patience — between chewed-up shoes and midnight zoomies. He didn't care about my daily stresses, long to-do lists or the pressures of the outside world. To him, every morning was a reason to celebrate, every rustling leaf an adventure, every quiet evening together a gift. That radical joy became contagious.
When I first set out to build PawMate, the road was filled with doubt and long, exhausting hours. But I was never truly alone. Through every late-night strategy session and early-morning deadline, my loyal companion was curled up right beneath my desk, resting a warm chin on my foot.
